The training courses at VIDYA SAGAR aim at:

We run a one year Post Graduate Diploma in Special Education, Multiple Disabilities (physical and Neurological recognised by the Madras university and the rehabilitation council of India which was started in 1990 training professionals to work specially with persons with cerebral palsy, mental retardation, learning disabilities and autism. In 2008 the two year diploma course on special education autism spectrum disorder recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India was started. VIDYA SAGAR also offers the continuous rehabilitation education courses recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India.

Internship training for physical, speech and occupational therapists, social workers international students & Orientation programs, for students of nursing, architecture, psychology, visual communication, journalism and engineering are all part of activities of the HRD.

Professionals who have passed out have made a name for themselves in various parts of the world. The course focuses on creating caring professionals. The alumni from our course have gone on to study in universities in India and abroad. Some of them have started their own organizations and a large number are working at our centre in various programs.

We enhance the skills of the existing professionals by conducting short term courseson specific conditions and issues. Some of them being training programs in low vision, early intervention, alternative and augmentative communication and inclusive education.New courses are also designed to meet the changing needs in the sector.The three month course offered in 2012 in "Counselor Education - Disability and Mental Health" certificate course is a pioneering venture, first of its kind for existing counselors, psychologists and social workers to train them in the field of disability.
